“If you no longer go for a gap that exists you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing”. Words that encapsulate the mindset of every great racing driver in Formula 1. Words that were spoken by one of the greatest to ever grace the sport, Ayrton Senna. Senna was one of the few drivers from Brazil to sit atop the world of F1. There is no scale to measure the highs Senna would’ve touched if not for his untimely demise. However, if we take his impact on the sport and the fans as a scale, the sky was the limit and we got a glimpse of that on his birthday.

No one can deny Senna’s ability behind the wheel. In fact, one of the most decorated, albeit arrogant, drivers in the world of F1, Michael Schumacher, also bowed down in front of the greatness of Senna. The German conceded defeat to Senna in the 1994 championship, because sadly Senna passed away in the 1994 San Marino GP.
