The start to the 2022 season has been brilliant for Haas. As things stand, the American team has taken the points table by storm. Team boss Guenther Steiner believes that the 2022 season is going to be a good one for the Kannapolis-based team.
Haas is in P5 right now in Constructor’s Championship with 12 points. They’re just behind Alpine who is with 16 points. And this is due to the fact that Kevin Magnussen has shown brilliance from the very first race as he picked up 12 points after just two races.

Talking about the team’s good run, Guenther conveyed, ”I think we can keep going where we are now. Obviously the other ones will get closer but [with] the budget cap in place, it’s not like the good old days when you just throw money at it and you keep on developing.”

“We will develop and we will get better as well, so I don’t know. But it’s a very level playing field at the moment in Formula 1 and I think that was the intention of the financial regulations,” the Italian concluded.
The team game is strong at Haas
The start of the 2022 year wasn’t the best for the American team. From sponsorship issues to putting up a new driver, the team has gone through all. The American team had to sack Nikita Mazepin due to the Russian-Ukraine fallout.

Apart from front-runner Ferrari, teams like Haas, and Alfa Romeo picked up decent points in the first two races already. With Haas picking up more points in just two races than the entire 2020 and 2021 season, Alfa Romeo followed in with 9 as compared to the entire last season’s 13 points.
As F1 goes to Australia in the second week of April, it’ll be interesting to see if Haas can maintain their good run for the third consecutive race. Only time will tell.
