The Haas F1 team showed the exit door to Mick Schumacher after two bitter-sweet years. The American team decided against renewing the 23-year-old’s contract after the 2022 F1 season and Haas boss Guenther Steiner was probably a bit insensitive about sacking the German prodigy from his team. But now, the Italian-American has given his thoughts on the situation.
As per the report published by Motorsport Nextgen Auto, Steiner revealed, “Sometimes, one step back is two forwards. So he has put himself in a good position with a team where he has the best chance of a regular cockpit in the future. You break up quite often, so it doesn’t mean that you break up in an argument.”

“In the end, we both played with open cards and that’s why I think we’ll still talk to each other and say hello,” concluded the Haas honcho. Haas replaced Schumacher with fellow compatriot Nico Hulkenberg to partner up with Kevin Magnussen.
The 35-year-old German driver has 181 F1 starts, having driven for to his name and has experience with teams like Force India, Sauber, Renault, and Aston Martin. Whereas, Mick Schumacher only has two years of experience with a single team and that was what Steiner pointed out after sending the German out.
