“Gym Buddy” – Lewis Hamilton Thanks Vin Diesel for Monza F1 Support

Lewis Hamilton was a busy man before the start of the Italian Grand Prix. On race day, many stars and celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment wanted to meet and speak to the seven-time world champion.

Big names, such as Usain Bolt, Lamont Marcell Jacobs, Zoe Saldana, were present at Monza. But there was one movie star that stole the show and hung out with Hamilton just before the race, Vin Diesel. Hamilton took to Twitter to post about meeting his gym buddy at Monza.

“Gym buddy came out to the track yesterday #VinDiesel,” said Lewis.

The Mercedes driver mentions the human element of F1 after crash

As reported by Guardian, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen crashed into each other at the Italian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver was severely in danger, as the rear tire of Max’s Red Bull was inches away from Lewis’ neck.

“It’s a big shock. I’ve been racing a long time and we are taking risks out there all the time.” said Hamilton.

It’s only when you experience something like that you get that real shock and you look at life and realize how fragile we are.” said Lewis, explaining the human element in motor racing.

While recalling the dangers of the sport, the 7-time world champion mentioned every driver is on edge. He also stated that no one wants to see anyone get injured on the track during battles.

“All of us drivers are on the edge and when we have the inside line, every single driver, past and present, will try to hold on to his position.” he said while defending himself.

“But I definitely think we need to be looking into this and making sure the right decisions are being made. No one wants to see anyone get injured and if we can put some better protocols in. We can avoid this kind of stuff in the future.” said Hamilton.

Both Max and Lewis came out of the incident unharmed. The stewards judged Verstappen was at fault for the incident and handed him 3 place grid penalty for the next race.
