Haas had a dismal 2021 where they were easily the slowest car. However, this season, they have had a major revival, which has allowed them to again become mid-table candidates. But since a few allegations have been aimed at them regarding the legality of their car, Guenther Steiner has decided to put these to bed. The team principal took a solid stand against the narrative that they have copied the Ferrari.

Guenther Steiner puts an end to copycat allegations

The Haas has recently been enjoying a great revival with them fighting in the midfield. This is a total contrast from their 2021 performance, which saw them score no points all season long. However, the success has come with its fair share of accusations, with rivals pointing fingers at their close working relationship with Ferrari.

Steiner has had his say on the matter. He said, “It’s always the same. As soon as we have a good car, we have copied. When we have a bad car, that’s where we’re supposed to be,” talking about how the paddock is never satisfied and always suspicious of the team when they are doing well.

He went on to add, “I don’t find this way of thinking intelligent. You also have to respect people. We are not here to fill the grid”.

Kevin Magnussen’s perfectly timed Haas return

Haas’s return to the mid-field has coincided with the return of their former driver, Kevin Magnussen. So far this season he has scored all their points. He described his return as a rollercoaster ride when he said, “It’s been a massive rollercoaster from getting the call from Gunther…and then trying to make it happen.”
