Haas F1 have impressed everyone this season with their performances in the first two races of the season. They are currently P5 in the championship with 12 points, just a couple of points behind Alpine.
This is a great turnaround for a team that was struggling to get out of the bottom of the field in the past two seasons. But unlike many Haas, team principal Guenther Steiner is confident that they can continue the upward trajectory throughout the season.
The 2022 season is a development war between the teams as it brings new regulations into the sport. The American team had a head start over other F1 teams as they began development in early 2021.

Haas team boss reveals they can keep up with Ferrari and Red Bull
Many people around the world believe that much bigger teams like Aston Martin, McLaren will catch up to them and eventually supersede them. But Haas team principal is confident that this won’t be the case and they will keep up their development pace with the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari in the 2022 season.
“We will develop and we will get better as well. I don’t know but it’s a very level playing field at the moment in Formula One and I think that was the intention of the financial regulations and to have a budget cap to achieve this,” said Guenther.

“It is much more interesting to have smaller teams to compete in the midfield and fight for points every weekend. Obviously, there will be a day when we fall back again and someone else comes up. Like we fell back and then came back, but I think this is the whole idea of the budget cap that is more competitive for the smaller teams,” said Guenther.

But there may be a surprise in store for all of us as Haas can finish in the upper half of the championship come to the end of the season.
