As the United States Grand Prix comes closer, Mick Schumacher’s situation begins to unravel, as it was the team owner who had a clear say. Gene Haas, the owner of the Haas F1 team, recently opened up on the young German driver. Haas revealed what Schumacher Jr. ”need” to do to stay in the team.
Despite budget issues at the Kannapolis-based team, Mick Schumacher still has hope to stay in Haas. As shared by the owner, the son of Michael Schumacher has to bring in points to see him on the team for next year to make it his third in a row.

Talking about this, Gene Haas, the American owner, put out some clear objectives for Mick if he is to stay in the team. The 69-year-old owner told Associated Press, “We’re just waiting. We need mick to bring some points, and we’re trying to give him as much time as possible to see what he can do.”
“If he wants to stay with us, he’s got to show us that he can score some points. That’s what we are waiting for,” further asserted Gene Haas. Currently, Mick Schumacher has 12 points in his bag this season, 10 less than his teammate Kevin Magnussen.
Mick Schumacher has been expensive for Haas
Amid a promising start to the 2022 F1 season, Haas had to bear expenses caused by Mick Schumacher throughout the season. Which, of course, was difficult for the team, as stated by the owner himself.
