The entire world of F1 is shaken and can only talk about one thing and one man, the sacking of Guenther Steiner. It is a huge loss for the sport and the fans as we have lost the rockstar of F1, a crown he gladly wore after gaining popularity thanks to Netflix’s Drive to Survive. However, according to experts, it’s an even bigger loss for the Haas F1 team as they will feel the ill after-effects of Steiner’s sacking in the coming season. F1 expert and veteran David ‘Crofty’ Croft expressed his disappointment about Steiner’s departure.

After he witnessed the heartbreaking scenario and after Craig Slater revealed how Gene Haas expressed his desire to continue operating the team with no new investment, Crofty painted a concerning picture of the team and for new boss Ayao Komatsu. Do they go forward? I don’t see how they do unless investment is made and the money is given to the team. They’re not operating anywhere near at the limits of the cost cap,” said Crofty.

He then substantiated his statement with examples. “You look at the teams around them. Sauber, they will be Audi in a couple of years’ time. Williams have got their house in order and have risen now to seventh with a potential to go further there. AlphaTauri is more closely aligning with Red Bull and moving their aero design base to Milton Keynes in a bid to get further up the grid.” Crofty was then back to criticizing Gene Haas’ idle approach while predicting a worrying outcome, especially after the recent change.

He concluded, “They’re just not investing and they’ve lost a real motivator and a leader of people in Guenther Steiner and I wish Ayao Komatsu all the best but can you honestly see a scenario at this moment that Haas aren’t the team that will finish bottom at the end of the season?“. One can’t help but agree with the F1 veteran in his assessment of Haas’s near future. Honestly, nobody can accurately predict how the team will cope with Steiner’s sudden departure, which was so sudden that it didn’t even give the entire team closure. Let’s dive deeper.

Eye-opening details come to light involving the sacking of Guenther Steiner!

There are a lot of suggestions and rumors of what could’ve been the reason for this extremely shocking turn of events. Although whatever the reason may be, it’s still heartbreaking to lose a rockstar like Guenther Steiner. What makes this all the more heartbreaking is the man who built the team from the ground up and was the third longest-serving team principal on the grid did not even get a chance to say his goodbyes, as revealed by Craig Slater during his conversation with Crofty and Damon Hill.

“People have been telling me, from sources inside the factory, that there’ll be a lot of disappointment that Guenther has gone,” said the Sky Sports F1 correspondent. He didn’t get a chance to say goodbye, by the way, which I think will disappoint him.”

Despite Opening the Doors for Daniel Ricciardo, Steiner Reveals Conversations With Tempting Driver Option For Haas F1 Seat

One can only imagine what must’ve gone down in the room where this decision was made and if Steiner was present during the discussion. If he was, the fiery and filterless nature of the Italian-American boss, one can assume some words would have been exchanged, which made the whole process more difficult and saying goodbye to the team impossible.

While that’s mere speculation, let’s hope he can get a chance to at least speak his mind once the dust has settled.
