Carlos Sainz has arguably been the best driver amongst those who switched teams this season. He has adapted really well and fast to the demands of the Ferrari. He has played a major role in the team’s fight for P3 in the constructor’s championship with McLaren.

But the Spanish driver has mentioned that he is not entirely happy with his first season at Ferrari. He mentioned the areas where he still needs to improve and the areas where he has been let down by his car.

As reported by motorlat.com, Sainz analyzed his performances in the first 11 races with the Italian team. He compared his performances to his teammate Leclerc and gave an accurate and realistic assessment of his season so far.

“It was a new beginning for me, with many question marks. I knew I was facing one of the fastest drivers or the fastest, and the goal of every driver is to be the best on the grid, not just beat your teammate,” said Sainz.

The speed was there from the beginning,” he commented on his experience with Ferrari.

Carlos stated he has to work extra hard to get everything working at Ferrari. He also mentioned that he is still lacking the consistency of his teammate this season.

I also have to admit that I still have to work hard to get everything right for a whole weekend regularly. I have the feeling that I am not piloting in a constant way as in 2019 and 2020, there are still some points that I need to improve,” said Sainz.

Sainz is currently three points ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc and sitting on P6 on the drivers’ standings.
