As things stand, Max Verstappen is clearly dominating the 2022 season. The Dutchman has 6 victories to his name so far and sits at the top of the drivers’ standings with a 46 points lead. In light of this, World Touring Car star and F1 pundit Tom Coronel has attributed Verstappen’s sheer dominance to his father Jos Verstappen.

Jos has been criticized for his harsh ways in Max’s upbringing. However, Coronel voiced his support for the former F1 driver, “And Jos, okay some people can say it’s not good that you put so much pressure on your kids when you’re so young. But this is what you create, you create a racing monster.”

He went on to add, “The more pressure, the better Verstappen [is]”. Talking about the pressure of the F1 title fight, Tom said, “Max has coped with it already his whole life so he doesn’t feel it anymore, so it’s positive. It worked out that Jos created this race monster.”

Tom said, “He is always on attack mode.” He went on to add, “I’m like Max why every outing you have you got to be on top by one second… If you’re in the top 10 it’s good enough.”

Coronel heaped further praise on his compatriot Verstappen and said, “He just puts his middle finger to everybody. During that qualification, you saw the rest were just filling up the field. Jos created this.”
