Kimi Raikkonen is the most experienced driver in f1 history. The Finn has started over 340 starts in Formula One and still going strong at 40 years old. Alfa Romeo team principal Fredric Vasseur has mentioned that Kimi is very motivated to compete in F1.

Raikkonen has not signed a new deal with the team, but Vasseur has stated that Kimi is still working very hard behind the scenes in the simulator this season.

As reported by Formula passion, Alfa Romeo’s team boss has mentioned that Kimi is working hard with the Swiss team. He also mentioned that there is no respite in Kimi‘s desire for racing.

” He works in the factory before and after the race and in recent months we have managed to make significant progress. This means he is still highly motivated. If we give him an appointment at 08.00 in the morning, he shows up on time and with a nice smile on his face.”

Vasseur states that the driver lineup for 2022 is not decided yet

Fred Vasseur has mentioned that he has still not finalized the driver lineup for the 2022 season. But Fred emphasized it is important the drivers focus on the current season.

“But that’s every season, in Formula 1. For everyone,” said Vasseur on of the importance of this season in the career of both drivers.

“If you think a season isn’t decisive for you, you are done. I also want the drivers to understand it is crucial for themselves and the team to do their job well. This is a hyper-competitive environment and everyone has to go along with it,” said Vasseur.

Both Alfa Romeo drivers Raikkonen and Giovinazzi are out of contract at the end of the season.
