For months now, starting from the 2022 Brazilian GP, there has been a lot of tension in the Red Bull garage. Some say it was all due to Sergio Perez’s actions in Monaco. Whereas others accuse Max Verstappen of immaturity and pettiness. The signs of the tumultuous relationship between the two have layers of hot and cold like a late-night microwaved burrito. However, taking the conversation to the skillet, Perez’s father made an interesting revelation during his chat on Spanish TV Marca. However, as things turn out, it is not easy to convince the Red Bull fanbase.

The Mexican driver has openly claimed he is fighting his teammate for the championship on multiple occasions already in 2023. Perez even secured a race win in the season to give a boost to his claims. However, many experts have backed Verstappen and slapped Perez with a dose of harsh reality on multiple occasions.

Although according to Perez’s father, as quoted by GP Fans, there is no tension between the two and no favoritism. “That’s a lie, let’s be clear. Red Bull is a brand that costs many billions of dollars above Checo and Max,” he said.

“There is no favouritism for anyone, it’s all speculation. Red Bull has the two best tigers in the same cage, if they weren’t at the same level, what’s going on wouldn’t be there,” he added.

However, the fans don’t believe the words coming out of Antonio Perez’s mouth.
