Some believe Hamilton was robbed while others believe that Masi made the right call. Either way, that is a debate for another time. Lewis Hamilton will be back in the Mercedes again this season and everyone is ecstatic with his decision to continue.

Martin Brundle backs Hamilton

Sky Sports presenter and former F1 driver Martin Brundle believes Lewis Hamilton will bounce back again after last season’s disappointment. He believes that Hamilton is still driving at an extremely high level and was sublime last year as well.

Brundle believes Hamilton is still at the top of his game and can challenge for the title again this year. On a zoom meet from the Sky Sports HQ, he said  “He is physically in great shape and I think he’ll be a force of nature when he comes back.”

After the disappointing end to 2021, Lewis had taken some time off social media and made some time for himself. Commenting on that Brundle added, “he’s a massive contender for greatest of all time… Lewis was just regrouping.”

This year, Hamilton will have a new teammate in George Russell. The 7-time champion will be looking to get accustomed to the car as quickly as possible. After all, he is still chasing that elusive 8th title.

He along with Mercedes had a fairly successful Bahrain testing. However, the Silver Arrow’s fastest time was set by his teammate, George Russell. Although Hamilton and Mercedes completed the most laps at the tests at 384 laps they did not top the timings. Some rumors have it that they were sandbagging.
