American filmmaker Michael Mann has roped in actor Adam Driver as a lead to star in his upcoming racing movie “Ferrari”. The high-budget film revolves around the life of the former racing driver and auto manufacturing giant Enzo Ferrari. Late Troy Kennedy Martin has written the script of this much-awaited cinematic project.

The film is based on Brock Yates’ book “Enzo Ferrari The Man and the Machine”. Adam Driver will replace Wolverine fame Hugh Jackman who was the original choice for the role. Spanish actress Penelope Cruz and American star Shailene Woodley will also appear in the movie. Mann aims to cover various aspects of Enzo Ferrari including the lowest points in his personal life.

Enzo married Laura Ferrari, however, the marriage started to fall apart after the death of their son Alfredo in 1956, aged 24. On the other hand, Enzo Ferrari had an affair with Lina Lardi, with whom he had another son Piero. This movie covers his stormy marriage with Laura and its aftermath.

As per the sources, Penelope Cruz will play Laura while Shailene Woodley will star in the character of Lina Lardi.

Way ahead for the Ferrari F1 team

Ferrari performed close to their potential in the 2021 F1 season, finishing third in the constructors’ standings. This season comes with a major overhaul in the rules and unpredictability through and through. Many F1 insiders believe Ferrari will compete at the front in 2022, However, Piero Ferrari differs from the view.

He believes the new season comes like a clean slate and there is little room for speculations. Piero Ferrari is still not sure of how it will play out for the Maranello team, or any other team, for that matter.

“The rules have not been modified, but have been rewritten. I read them, but it was really hard for me to understand them,” said the Italian boss. I saw the model in the wind tunnel. What caught my eye? Let’s wait for the 17th,” he said to finish.
