Ferrari made a dream start to the 2022 campaign as they finished 1-2 at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The team took home maximum points as race winner Charles Leclerc also got the fastest lap of the race. This is Leclerc’s second 1-2 finish with the team after he finished second behind Sebastian Vettel in Singapore 2019.

But the Monegasque driver forgot he had gotten a 1-2 with the Italian team before. During a quiz with Sky Sports, Carlos and Charles were asked to name 8 driver pairings who had finished 1-2 for Ferrari since 1997.

The duo could only name 5 pairings, but it was hilarious when Leclerc forgot about him and Seb.

“Seb and Charles,” said Carlos. To this Charles, shockingly, replied,” Oh yes. Seb and myself. Oh, my god. How stupid I am?”

Although it was one of the highlights of Charles and Seb’s partnership, the Monegasque driver was not particularly happy when he finished behind his teammate in Singapore.

Charles Leclerc disappointed after his Singapore 2019 podium

The Ferrari driver had not put a foot wrong throughout the weekend as he was leading from the front. He started the race on pole position and was leading by quite a margin from Lewis Hamilton. But everything changed during the first round of pit stops when Vettel pitted first for the team.

The German did a mega out lap and managed to not only to undercut Hamilton but also Leclerc. Leclerc was frustrated by the decision and could not challenge the four-time world champion throughout the race.

As reported by F1.com, Charles said, “I obviously did not expect Seb to pass me and it was frustrating from the car, but I also completely understand that if this decision has been taken, it’s for sure for the good of the team…”

“The only answer I need really is that there was no other way for us to be first and second in the same order before the pit stop. This is the only answer I need. I’m happy for the team anyway,” the Monegasque concluded.

Interestingly, that was also the last win for the Italian team before the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix triumph. It was a turning point for the season, as well as for the partnership between Seb and Charles. From then on, both drivers challenged each other but maintained great respect for each other until the end. Hopefully, Carlos and Charles can have the same dynamic going into their second season together with Ferrari.
