“I Am So Happy I Could Cry” – Former Red Bull F1 Driver Alex Albon in $90,000 Auction for Orphanage

With all the hectic schedules a Formula 1 racer goes through, there is always a requirement for some time off to unwind. Before the Australian Grand Prix this year, Williams’ driver made a visit to Wat Sakaeo orphanage. Alex spent his time playing with the orphanage kids. The Williams’ driver made a promise that he kept by making a contribution to the orphanage.

The Williams driver has been supporting the Wat Sakaeo orphanage near Bangkok. The Orphanage happens to be run by the team boss’s brother. With all this, Albon raced at the Singapore Grand Prix with the helmet designed by the orphans. Now that Helmet has been sold at $90000, all the money will be reverted to the orphanage. The reason behind it was to help finance the renovation project of the sports hall, which will be renamed Alex Albon Sports Hall upon completion.

Albon has his say on the good deed, “They are basically raising money for their sports hall and it was up to them to design a helmet for me, ” Albon said. “There were about 200 kids that got involved and they all had a go. We’re going to auction off the helmet and we’re going to give 100 per cent of the proceeds to the charity.

The quirky, light blue helmet features a big smile and several small drawings on the front. When speaking with Motorsport.com earlier this year about his charity push, “Obviously, I feel like I’m in a great position to try and help. We’ve been able to donate quite a lot of money and we’re not stopping, we want to keep going.” Albon said

After George Russell left Williams, Alex Albon has been taken good care of, Provided with nourishment Williams’s been getting good results, The Thai-British driver had finished with points on 3 occasions. Williams is focusing on an all-round development for Alex Albon, which not only concerns the on-track results but it also helps him to be a fighter off the track.

Albon has impressed throughout his time at Williams so far. He’s constantly outperforming teammate Nicholas Latifi. Williams F1 boss Jost Capito said he had been very impressed with Albon, calling him a very nice guy and very well-behaved outside the cockpit. The team wants the talented driver to show more spirit off-track.

“When he closes his visor he becomes a real fighter,” Capito said. “Then we develop him and say, you can be also a bit more fighter outside the car. But we are very impressed with him. He has seen the team working with the drivers from the outside.”
