In the aftermath of the entire Red Bull cost cap fiasco, the Milton-Keynes-based outfit will get a financial and sporting penalty. That is to say, $7 million in fines and a 10% deduction in aero testing time for next season.

Sky Sports’ Simon Lazenby was quick to cast aspersions on Red Bull’s titles. He said, “They’ve got two championships out of this.”

Brundle was quick to retort, “You can’t say that, how can you say that?”

Lazenby tried to explain himself. “I’m not saying that, but that’s what the fans are saying.”

But Brundle was having none of that, “There will have been some money spent. But can you apply that amount of money to winning two world championships?”

There is no doubt now that Red Bull did, in fact, breach the cost cap. Do you agree with Lazenby and feel that they got an unfair edge over its rivals and won the Championships? Or do you agree with Brundle and feel the overspend wasn’t significant enough to impact the Championship results?
