Recently, things have been going well for Red Bull. The team had the World Champion driving for them for the last 3 years. But like they say “One wrong move and you’re finished,” and Christian Horner, the team principal, is caught up in a controversy that can be fatal to Red Bull’s upcoming season. But what does this mean for Red Bull?

Although none of the allegations against Horner have been proven yet, Horner has been asked to stay out of the media’s glare. As the controversy spread like wildfire, Eddie Jordan came forth to share his thoughts on the incident.

In his podcast Formula for Success, Eddie Jordan stresses that Horner is innocent until proven guilty. He continues to explain how nobody knows all the details and until the investigations are concluded; he sees Horner to be in the clear. “Having said that they do have to have finality on this one way or another by next week because it would be absolutely very hard to see a car launch with Christian there and there was no answer on all of these situations,” Jordan stated.

The Red Bull team has a lot to prove in the world of F1. Being primarily an Energy drink company competing against manufacturing behemoths like Ferrari and Mercedes, the team always has to stay on their toes. Eddie explained the importance of what the organization was doing and said, “So, you can see why they have appointed [a lawyer], because HR in that [Red Bull] group and that company and what the brand stands for and how they deliver their product, is hugely important.”

Jordan mentioned how Horner should sit out the RB20 on 15 February while the case is still open. Although the team is trying to get things resolved as soon as possible, having Horner at the event will change the focus from the car launch to the controversy, that being said, Jordan suggested, “I do not think that Christian could be at the launch of the car – bearing in mind what the launch is for, which is to show off the car, show off Red Bull in its glory and for the future hopes for the 24 season – if there was not an answer. So, I think he’s under pressure. He needs to find a solution.”

While this was bold advice from Jordan, he only hoped for the best outcome for everyone. Whether Christian Horner is guilty is something only time will tell, but it is important to give everyone the benefit of the doubt until proof is submitted.

On the other hand, even as Christian Horner might not be making an appearance at the car launch according to Jordan, some details about the new vehicle have been leaked by none other than Max Verstappen.
