With four more rounds left, the 2021 season will, unfortunately, soon be over. However, it means that the 2022 season will be that much closer. With the new regulations and the new cars, fans and teams alike are excited for the season to come. Although, with a beast evolving in Maranello, no one is more excited as Ferrari, as Charles Leclerc highly anticipates the next season.

Other teams on the grid should be worried at how exhilarated Ferrari is with their car development for the next season. Charles Leclerc was bright-eyed when asked about the season to come. “I think it’s a big opportunity for Ferrari to try and catch up and be fighting for the title again. And that’s what we all want. From 2020, we’ve taken good steps in the right direction all the time, but 2022 is definitely a big opportunity for us.”

However, when asked if he’s seen the car, Leclerc had the smile of a champion. Unable to share his excitement about the car, Leclerc gave the fans a minor detail to hold on to. “I cannot explain much… it’s red. It will be red, I can only say that. Yeah, it’s red.”

Charles Leclerc happy with Mexico GP results

Although the 2022 season will be a sight to behold for Ferrari, the present season hasn’t been too bad for the team either. After the race in Mexico, Ferrari has pushed McLaren off the P3 position; the team now holds a 13.5 point advantage over their rivals.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the PU upgrades and the immense skill of Ferrari’s C2 duo hold. Having finished 5th and 6th, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz proved their synergy goes unmatched by other teams.

Despite the challenges of the race, which included team orders, both the drivers emerged victorious and unaffected. The Monegasque commented“Fifth and sixth is a solid result to take home from this weekend, as the race turned out a bit different to how we had expected.”

Sainz was also a proud Ferrari driver and was glad to have contributed to the points in Ferrari’s pocket. “Today we brought home a good amount of points compared to our closest rivals and we are now ahead of them. That, together with my strong pace all weekend, are the important positives to take from Mexico. On to Brazil!”

With the P3 battle almost as intriguing as the battle for the crown, it will be an interesting run to the end. However, Brazil favors McLaren’s setup; but will Ferrari defy the odds?
