It was anticipated before the Hungarian Grand Prix that Ferrari might be the team to take advantage of the slow corners of the tight and twisty Budapest course after having a disappointing Silverstone GP. And all that was required was a decent setup. But guess what happened? It’s the same tired cliche about Ferrari and their suffering, which manages to crush the Tifosi’s hearts yet again. And after so many heartbreaks in the season so far, Ferrari has once again sent their star driver Charles Leclerc, to deliver some encouraging words and enthuse fans to believe in all the effort that the squad is putting in. And while gasping for hope, the Monegasque gives a testament.

It all started on the Bahrain track when Leclerc received a DNF and soon after the first three races where the Monegasques only finished at Jeddah, it was all clear how the season will progress for Ferrari. After a huge disappointment, Leclerc even claimed that the season was the worst of his previous few years of Formula 1 racing. It wasn’t until Azerbaijan that the Monegasque had his hand on the podium. That podium made the fans believe in the team again, but what happened next wasn’t what the Tifosi may have hoped for since Ferrari’s campaign has been littered with strategic errors, driver errors, and now pit stop errors.

Ferrari has continually provided itself and its supporters with a ray of hope amidst terrible circumstances. However, now grasping for hope, in the middle of all Ferrari’s setbacks, Charles Leclerc finally showed his self-awareness. In a recent video clip posted by Scuderia on their official Instagram page, the 25-year-old was seen evaluating the entire pit stop error and how these silly errors are making it difficult for fans to trust the side.

Initially, the 5 times Grand Prix winner said, “So P7 today yeah again its’ been a difficult race. We had a slow pit stop at the first stop which puts us quite a bit on the on the back foot then we had to catch back. And we didn’t manage really well the second half because of that and I felt like we just lost a bit too much time, but in the first stint it felt quite a positive it felt like I was in control of my pace.”

Later, he emphasized that both the squad, and he was aware of all the suffering and were committed to giving everything they had, “So it’s a bit of a shame. I know I keep repeating myself, but at this moment we just need to be patient and keep working 200%. that’s what we are trying to do.”

Despite the fact that Leclerc has served as a testimonial, there are claims that Leclerc lacks motivation to give his all, now that Max Verstappen would certainly easily claim his third championship. However, the Monegasque addressed that and hit on the critics of his and the team’s motivation.

Given that the grid has gotten considerably closer thanks to Mclaren’s modifications, several experts have highly scrutinized the Prancing Horse and questioned the team’s as well as Charles Leclerc’s motivations. However, after the race at the Budapest, the Monaco native responded to the critics by saying. “I am motivated as ever I seen that some of you are wondering if I am so motivated, I’m motivated I’m 200% and the team is too we are pushing like crazy.”

Later while clarifying the entire scenario of Ferrari’s situation, Leclerc added, “Of course I am not happy with the performance at the moment but believe me, I’m putting absolutely everything on track. The problem is that for now, we don’t have the performance to show and to do things that are a bit exciting to watch because we are fighting for positions that are not as exciting as last year.”
