“I Was Having a Sh*t” – Kimi Raikkonen Couldn’t Care Less When Legendary Soccer Player Pele Appeared at Brazilian GP 2006

As Kimi Raikkonen takes a bow at the end of the season, fans will remember him as a legend of the sport. With his steely personality being a defining trait, there was a time when Raikkonen added yet another gemstone to his collection.

With Raikkonen’s press personality being something that fans will miss in the coming years, looking back at one of his iconic moments seems fit. Pele attended the 2006 Brazilian GP; the football legend was present to give Michael Schumacher the lifetime achievement award. However, Raikkonen was missing from the audience.

When an interviewer spotted him, Raikkonen explained his absence. “Yeah. I was having a shit.” 

An odd reply on national television, it has been an iconic Kimi Raikkonen moment. In true Iceman form, Raikkonen was hilariously blunt as ever.

Although Raikkonen’s pragmatism will be missed, the sheer caliber of the Finn on the racing track will be remembered. The raw talent that Sauber honed back in 2001, will be the same team’s outfit that the driver will hand up. Doing all his talking on the track, the Ferrari champion was a force to be reckoned with. However, as the curtains fall on an exceptional career, Raikkonen will have a lot to look forward to.
