It’s been 12 years since Daniel Ricciardo made his debut in the pinnacle of motorsport. During the course, the Australian driver jumped from one team to another. The constant changing of teams has surely provided him with an abundance of experience. Talking about the learnings behind the wheel, in 2020, Ricciardo once revealed the sad reality of becoming an F1 driver.

The Honey Badger entered the world of F1 as a fearless boy, showing signs of becoming a great F1 driver. That indeed was true, as the jolly Australian is now the winner of eight Grand Prix and has secured 32 podiums.
However, in 2020, he decided to give his fans some insight into his day job by comparing it to shooting in a game of basketball. As per esquireme, he said, “If you shoot 1,000 shots a day from a young age, you are going to peak at an earlier stage in your career, but with racing cars, the time behind the wheel is so sparse that the more you do it, the more you learn.”
Adding further, Daniel Ricciardo said, “I feel that a driver will never finish his career feeling like they have ever really perfected the sport.”

Daniel Ricciardo reveals what made him choose Red Bull
Danny Ric left Red Bull after 2018 in order to explore more options on the F1 grid. After racing for two different teams, Renault and McLaren, the Aussie has signed a deal as a reserve driver with the Austrian outfit.
Earlier, Ricciardo made it very clear that he wants some time for himself. Besides, he wants teams to consider him as a 2024 driver option, so in alignment with his statement, the Australian driver has chosen to sign a deal with Red Bull.

Speaking to Speedcafe, Ricciardo said, “ It’s nice to be in a winning environment, I think you learn a lot, If there’s not a seat with them, potentially they can help find a seat elsewhere.”

He added, “Also, being linked with a top team, a bit like [Nyck] de Vries was with Mercedes, you’re living with a top team. I feel like you’re more, I don’t want to use the word relevance, but you’re kind of more recognized and less forgotten. So there’s a lot of things.”
