It’s been a long time coming; ever since the Formula 1 official summer break, to be precise. However, nothing could prepare the fans for a Daniel Ricciardo farewell. Although that is exactly what the Australian received when he visited the McLaren factory for one last time.

Ricciardo visited the McLaren Technology Centre, or MTC, based in Woking, for the last time before his departure. Among all things, the technology center is a shrine to all the McLaren F1 cars from the past, showcasing the team’s illustrious history in the sport.

The Honey Badger, as we all know, will drive for McLaren for the last time in Abu Dhabi. However, before heading to the UAE, the Australian made a trip down to Woking for his farewell.

A massive crowd of employees left their desks and offices to greet the outgoing McLaren man in the technology centre. The entire MTC workforce gathered around for Ricciardo’s farewell. The people had McLaren even put Ricciardo’s race winner’s trophy from Monza on display for his farewell.

Ricciardo was all smiles as he did a little photo-op with the McLaren staff present in Woking. McLaren’s official Twitter page shared those photos in a tweet captioned, “Saying goodbye to the team back home at the MTC. 🧡 Thank you, @DanielRicciardo.”

From the pictures, it didn’t seem like an emotional farewell that most expected. However, fans poured their hearts out for Ricciardo’s first of many farewells.
