Christmas has arrived and so have the Santa Claus costumes, some being realistic while some being absolutely comical. And the soon-to-be Alfa Romeo F1 driver, Valtteri Bottas falls into the latter category. Was he deliberately trying to look funny? Most likely.

Nevertheless, the Finnish racing driver seems to be relishing the time of his life with his girlfriend, Tiffany Cromwell, in Finland on the eve of Christmas.

As expected, quite a lot of Formula 1 drivers have been largely active on social media in recent days, updating lovely family pictures amidst Christmas celebrations. But, the one picture that superseded them all was of Bottas’.

On Friday evening, Bottas took to social media to reveal a rather hilarious yet delightful picture starring himself and professional cyclist, Tiffany Cromwell. The picture portrayed Finn hiding inside a Santa costume with a glass of wine in his hand and Cromwell sitting on his lap.

Strong Alfa Romeo car as Christmas present for Valtteri Bottas?

This has been a matter of concern for many Finnish fans; Both the Finn drivers taking a step back from their respective positions. While Kimi Raikkonen has retired, Bottas has taken a drastic fall from a top-field team to a mid-field team.

Hence, this pretty much ends his hopes of winning podiums at least for a year. But, who knows, we could be wrong!

Bottas indeed lacked a bit of support from Mercedes, which led to the string of poor performances since 2020. However, 2022 could be a lot different in that case, with Alfa Romeo framing him as their number 1 driver. So, the likelihood of Bottas returning to his Williams form is quite high.

But, Bottas’ point-scoring fate is primarily lying in Alfa Romeo’s hands. Luckily for Bottas, Ferrari has built a new engine for the 2022 F1 season which looks to have embraced substantial performance gain. So, Alfa Romeo is likely to be stronger next season as well.

Of course, podiums are too much to ask from the Sauber-led outfit as of now. But, consistent points finishes? Doesn’t seem as hard as it looked in 2021.
