Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda fall among those drivers who cherish the most wholesome bond. Likened to pairs like Sainz-Norris and Ricciardo-Verstappen, the AlphaTauri duo is also known for its bromance. So when Gasly announced his contract with Alpine for 2023, fans had an outcry over seeing one of their favorite pairs break up.

Soon after Pierre Gasly’s announcement to leave AlphaTauri, the Frenchmen admitted that he was “definitely going to miss Yuki, and his no-filter behavior day after day”.

That admission sent an explosion of tweets lamenting the duo’s separation, with the “child of divorce” tag going viral. Fans likened the parting of ways to a divorce where the poor fans were left orphaned of their wholesome content.

Imagine their stunned astonishment then, when Gasly and Yuki all but confirmed the fan theories!

In an interview, the host asked the Frenchman, “Would you like to go to the hot spring together (with Yuki)?”

To which, Pierre replied, “I have enough of Yuki. Difficult character.”

“Also, he sings too much. If I stay too close to him, he sings too much.”

Yuki then, in Japanese, cheekily said, “We are also in the middle of a divorce right now.”

Gasly and Tsunoda are known to be active on Instagram. It is no surprise that they came across the internet phenomenon of their separation being dubbed as a divorce.

Quite recently, prior to the announcement of Gasly joining Alpine, the AlphaTauri twins went to karaoke.

While in Japan before the Grand Prix, Tsunoda and Gasly spent the evening singing their stress away.

“We went there with some members of the team and had a very romantic song together with Yuki where he got very emotional and gave all his life.” said the Frenchman of his teammate.

“That was definitely the highlight of the week so far,” Gasly declared, as he sang Adele’s “Hello” with Tsunoda.
