6 races to go before we complete a full round around the Formula 1 sun and conclude the 2022 season. Despite heading towards a straightforward conclusion to the current season with Red Bull and Max Verstappen’s massive leads on both championship fronts, we are yet again reminded of the 2021 season. The same 2021 season that saw Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen lock horns until the very end.

The last lap drama that defined the 2021 F1 driver’s championship result is forever etched into every F1 fan’s memory. The results of the 2021 season may be in the past, but they still haunt millions of fans. Especially Hamilton stans as they feel race director Michael Masi robbed him of the 2021 championship title.

Using the hashtag, users pointed out the rule which would void Lap 58 of the Abu Dhabi GP. The voided lap would effectively make the Mercedes man winner of the race and discredit Masi’s decision. This hashtag made a lot of waves on the internet but none in the ears of the FIA officials.

However, after the events of the F3 2022 Italian GP, the hashtag is trending again. The reason being two voided laps in the season finale of the Formula 3 championship season.

#VoidLap58 trending on Twitter again as Lewis Hamilton’s fans demand justice

The Lewis Hamilton fandom is pointing out the decision by the FIA for F3 and asking to reconsider the Abu Dhabi GP decision again. A reconsideration will result in Hamilton winning and becoming the one and only eight-time world champion.

The fans are also pointing out various classes in the rule which would allow the FIA to still make a ruling and change the decision. Change the decision despite Mercedes not appealing and the fact we’re almost at the conclusion of the current campaign.
