Along with being one of the most talented drivers on the grid, Lando Norris has something else that is special about him. The McLaren driver is half British, half Belgian.

Norris was in Bristol on November 13, 1999, making him 21-years-old. He is the son of Adam Norris, a British entrepreneur, and Cisca Wauman, a Belgium woman. The McLaren driver has an older brother, Oliver, and two sisters, Flo and Cisca, and the latter is named after her mother.

Norris explains the reason behind his racing number

Every Formula One driver chooses their number for a reason. It might bring them luck. However, for the McLaren driver, he had to make a compromise when he first stepped onto the scene in Formula One.

He said, “Eleven and thirty-one were like the two numbers I had Formula Renault, Formula Three, Formula Four. I think they were already taken by the time I even got into Formula One. Four was the best one in the end, mainly it fit really nicely into my logo.”

Norris’s next race is Spa for the Belgian Grand Prix. Seeing that he is part Belgian, he will hope to bring in a good result as he zips around Spa.

His family would be cheering him on whether it be on the television or by the trackside. They would be hoping that Norris archives a good result in Belgium and score some crucial points for the Woking-based outfit.
