“It Just Wasn’t Meant to Be” – Lewis Hamilton Reveals His Incomplete F1 Dream

When the name Mercedes comes to mind, you can’t forget Lewis Hamilton. The 7-times world champion has been with the Silver Arrows since 2013 and has recently signed a contract that sees part of the Brackley-based squad till 2023.

However, in all his time in Formula One, Hamilton finds it hard to believe that never drove for the famous Italian team, Ferrari. While, on the other hand, he chooses to be loyal to Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton always dreamed of driving a Ferrari

Mercedes and Hamilton seem inseparable, but the Brit is quite surprised with himself never being behind the wheel of the red car. Although, he does have a few Ferraris back home, he is intrigued by driving Ferrari’s F1 car.

Speaking to Sky Italia as quoted by Motorsport.total.com, Hamilton said, “It is definitely crazy to think that I never drove for Ferrari. So I can drive a Ferrari, but not this one Ferrari.”

“I will probably never know exactly why that was the case. Our positions never agreed. It just wasn’t meant to be,” Hamilton explained. (Translated from German via Google)

How is Mercedes battling Ferrari this season?

The Silver Arrows have always seen the Italian team as one of their biggest rivals in Formula One, and this season is no different. Although their battles are not as intense as Red Bull’s with Mercedes, they have put up a good fight on few occasions this season.

Currently, Hamilton’s team leads the championship table with 397.5 points, while Ferrari are down in fourth with 216.5 points. With a few more races to go this season, the Maranello-based squad hopes to pick up the pace and bag maximum points from the upcoming championship.
