If there ever was a doubt in the insane popularity of McLaren driver Lando Norris, it vaporized yesterday. Norris, who was recently voted as the second most popular Formula 1 driver in the world, almost broke the internet with one single post.

And that post was of him and his girlfriend, Luisinha Barosa Oliveira. That’s right, it was yesterday that the world came to know of the fact that Norris is no longer single.

So, naturally, he was congratulated by his fans and his friends, including his former teammate and his pal, Carlos Sainz. The Ferrari driver commented on Norris’ Instagram post, “It’s official.”

But Sainz was one of the many, many, many fans that expressed their happiness for the young rising star of Formula 1.

Just as there were positive reactions from Norris’ fans, there were plenty of negative ones as well. And though we won’t highlight or show them simply because they don’t deserve that attention, they remind us of some comments Norris recently made on the downside of becoming famous.

Recently in an interview, Norris talked about the negatives that come along with the positives of becoming as famous as he is. He said, “I think the one bad thing is just personal life with friends, people who through no fault of their own get put into the spotlight sometimes because of being seen with me or me following them on social media or something.”

He described such people as the “worst thing” about his popularity. “The people who don’t respect your personal life at all and the people you hang with and so on. That’s definitely the worst bit of it,” Norris added.

Regardless, the people who Norris is describing will always be a tiny minority compared to the majority of his fans that truly love and respect him.

We wish Lando Norris a happy off-season and we congratulate him for finding his better half.
