It is indeed a very special weekend for Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. The Formula One racer was born and raised in the principality and is a proud Monaco citizen with all the hopeful eyes set on him. But the Monegasque native has not had the best track record racing on his home track in his career.

The 2021 F1 Champion is yet to finish a race that he has taken part in his home Grand Prix. Something or the other always acts as a roadblock to him having an ideal race weekend in his hometown. But the man is confident that hopefully this season he can shoo away the bad luck that he has experienced and get a good result in 2022.
Charles Leclerc previews his Monaco Grand Prix weekend
In an interview with Le’Quipe, Leclerc denied ever considering switching his nationality. He further acknowledged the fact that he has had bad luck but is still looking forward to his home race this weekend.

“It’s true that I’ve never had much luck at home, but I don’t believe in that kind of thing. If you look at the results, it’s true that it looks like bad luck. There were mechanical problems, problems in quali, things that prevented us from finishing. But nothing I could control,” said Leclerc.
