As the Dutchman leads the driver’s championship for the first time in his career, his father Jos believes he showed his potential at the tender age of seven.

While his title challenges failed in previous seasons, Verstappen means business this year. With five wins in the first nine races, he leads seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton by 32 points in the drivers’ championship.

Although his father, Jos didn’t taste as much success in F1, he helped his son throughout his early days in his racing career. Ahead of the upcoming British Grand Prix, Verstappen admitted his son always exhibited the potential to make it to the pinnacle of motor sport.
