Lando Norris had awfully quiet F1 outings in 2019 and 2020, hardly reaching the headlines, but what followed was an unexpected transition.

After the rather stale couple of seasons, Norris sprung up to the skies by pulling off an impressive third season with McLaren in 2021; the Briton only took less than half the 2021 season to crush his previous highest seasonal point-scoring record.

In addition to that, Norris also secured his first-ever pole position in Formula 1 at the 2021 Russian Grand Prix, marginally ousting his former teammate, Carlos Sainz. And hardly days after the bitter-sweet race weekend in Sochi, Norris yet again hit the headlines for setting up his own karting team.

If you’re wondering who OTK is, well Norris won his first-ever karting world championship with the OTK-led FA Racing Kart in 2014. Hence, since then, the two have been on good terms, which consequently played a crucial helping hand in Norris’ latest initiative.

The duo had been working on building this racing outfit since 2020, and only managed to officially reveal it on September 29, 2021.

What did Lando Norris say?

The McLaren driver unveiled the outfit on social media and posted a picture of himself posing alongside his kart. He further wrote, “Say hello to the LN Racing Kart! This is a project I’ve been working on with OTK for the last year and I’m super-proud to say it’s now here.

Overall, Norris is the second British driver on the current F1 grid to own a racing team, after Lewis Hamilton’s X44 outfit in the Extreme-E racing series. So, will this new journey bring about more successes for the young McLaren driver?
