Kimi Raikkonen Has a Sarcastic Response to Missing Out on Key F1 Races

Kimi Raikkonen missed the Dutch Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix as he had contracted Covid-19. Now, the Finn has fully recovered and is ready to hit the ground running in Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix this weekend.

The Formula One community missed Kimi, as his interviews during the press conference make people’s day. So when he was asked if he saw the races he missed, Raikkonen answered in a manner that is best suited for him.

When a Formula One driver misses a Grand Prix, most people would assume that he would take time out to catch the race. However, Raikkonen is an exception, as he passively watched the races, stating he was occupied with other things during his time away from the sport.

Speaking in the presser at the Russian GP in Sochi, Kimi said, “Not fully, no! I was busy. I don’t remember what happened. I watched the start and some laps here and there.”

Raikkonen will hope to make an impact in Sochi

Ever since being ruled out for the Dutch Grand Prix and the Italian GP, Raikkonen is hoping to redeem himself in Russian. The Finn is in his last season of F1 and is hoping to not miss any of the upcoming races.

The Finn would be raring to go in tomorrow’s first practice session of the day. He hopes to bring a good result for Alfa Romeo, and seize some much-needed points for them.

Additionally, it is the fans who have been waiting to see Kimi back in action. They are well aware that this is his last year on the grid and would to see him at every race this season before he moves on to greener pastures.
