Lance Stroll Jokes About Sebastian Vettel’s Tendency to Have Long F1 Debriefs at Aston Martin

If you’re an experienced driver in F1, it is expected that you’d have extensive feedback for the team after races. The same is expected of Sebastian Vettel, especially if you consider his interest and knowledge of the engineering aspect of the sport as well. But if his teammate Lance Stroll is to be believed, the German can have a lot to say at the team’s debrief’s, sometimes too much!

Stroll has had the pleasure of seeing Vettel’s mettle first hand and is pretty impressed by the 4-time world champion. He acknowledges that Vettel has bounced back from his early-season woes very nicely.

Talking about involved and invested Vettel is with the workings of the car, Stroll said, “I must say, he’s very in tune with what the car’s doing and his communication to the engineers and his attention to detail is pretty amazing.”

He also complimented on how Sebastian absorbs information and passes it onto the team.

“He’s very good at really absorbing all the information of what’s happening inside the car and explaining it in detail corner by corner,” he said.

But Stroll admitted that meetings with the four-time world champion can get a little too long!

“Sometimes the meetings drag on a bit long, but it’s okay! He’s helping the team and that’s the most important thing obviously,” said Stroll.

Seb is currently 10th in the driver’s standings. He has recently been enjoying a resurgent form and kicked off a series of points finished in Monte Carlo with a fifth-place finish.

He followed that up in Baku, where he showcased his skills and experience to finish second, clinching Aston Martin’s first-ever podium. He also recently showed his prowess on tire management at Paul Ricard to finish ninth after starting from 12th.

Everyone at Aston Martin, including Vettel, are very confident that they continue their form and finish in points again at the Styrian Grand Prix. The British team and its previous renditions have always been quick at the Red Bull Ring and will hope for a strong weekend again in Austria.
