Lando Norris is now a Formula 1 winner. Almost. The official site took a series of polls on Twitter for fans to determine which overtake was the best of the season. Among 8 candidates, Norris was victorious!

After multiple rounds, Norris’ race restart action at Monza and Max Verstappen’s title-snatching last lap overtake on Lewis Hamilton at Abu Dhabi made it to the finals. It was a close call, one that Norris looked forward to.

In the end, Norris won by a narrow margin- almost as intense as an F1 race. The fans had their say and the man of the moment was the McLaren driver. Even Norris took the win happily. “Wow. My first f1 win.”

Monza truly was a strong showing for McLaren. A great weekend for the team; from a good sprint qualifying to an even better race result. It was a weekend to remember for the team and Norris had a lot to be proud of.

Norris’ race start was, simply put, impeccable. As Daniel Ricciardo took the race lead from Max Verstappen at the first chicane, behind him, his teammate fought hard.

He held his ground as the title protagonists collided in his mirrors. As the safety car was brought out, the race restart on lap 31 was crucial. Norris was behind Charles Leclerc, who clung to the P2 given to him after a free pitstop.

The safety car was brought in; Ricciardo aced his restart, as Lando Norris pressurized his Ferrari rival, and within two quick turns, the P2 was his; thus, making him a part of a historic and only 1-2 finish of the season.

It was after this confident run in Monza, Norris proved his mettle in Sochi. Although the race ended in heartbreak, it surely was a glimpse into a very promising 2022 season for the driver. Maybe, an actual maiden win isn’t too far for Norris.
