Lando Norris was known for his Twitch streams and online gaming shenanigans. Now, Norris spends his free time out on the golf field instead of in his gamer chair. Charlotte Sefton, the driver’s press correspondent and friend, took a dig at this personality change.

Sefton slammed Norris’ new hobby at the tee. “You went from a gamer to a retired old man in three months.” Although Norris found it funny, he couldn’t help but defend himself. “Golf is not for old people. That’s just what everyone thinks!”

Norris was recently declared as the most popular driver, second to Max Verstappen. A massive part of his young fan base has been the fans he’s collected along the way because of his streaming. Although Norris frequents his friend Max Fewtrell’s streams often, his Twitch streams remain devoid of content.

Now, Norris is more likely to have his golf shoes on, trying to putt on the dance floor.

Lando Norris explains the new side

In an infamous video with former McLaren teammate Carlos Sainz, Norris had said, “I don’t want to mature. I’m happy where I am.” now, it looks like Norris is happy with his off-track growth as well. An avid golfer himself, is Sainz responsible for Norris’ shift?

Initially known for his jokes and funny antics on the paddock, Norris explained why he’s sobered down. “Not everyone took me seriously when I got into Formula 1. I have changed a bit because of that.”

Although the change doesn’t mean long hours of golf instead of burning food on his streams, Norris has become a man of on-track results. “Just because I sometimes joke in front of the camera, doesn’t mean that I don’t take my job seriously and do everything I can. I want to show people that I take it seriously. I also think I proved that this year. That I have shown that I am a good driver and that I want to be one of the best drivers.”

Yet Norris’ fun side hasn’t completely disappeared. Still, the crackling laughter of the Brit is heard at the paddock. But, the driver concluded by making his goals clear. “I’m not just here to have fun, I want to win with McLaren.”

Till the win is in his hands, fans will have to make do with his special appearances with other streamers. As Norris takes the quiet, “mature” route with golf, let’s hope it clears his head, ready to lift the victor’s trophy.
