“No regrets from any side. I’m confident in my team, I’m confident in what we’ve been able to achieve and what we can achieve going into the future and I’m very happy with where I am,” said Lando Norris after signing with McLaren again. He was a hot property for recruiters because there will be as many as 13 drivers who will be out of a contract this season. But he chose to bet on the team, which still hasn’t given him his first win. But that may change soon.

Why you ask? McLaren began the 2023 season with the worst possible car ever and it was said that the two extremely talented drivers, Lando and Oscar Piastri were just wasting their time at the Woking-based outfit. Zak Brown and the team worked night and day to change that and they did. The massive turnaround the team managed to pull had people shocked. Does that mean Norris’ prophecy will come true? Signs are pointing toward the affirmative.

According to Formula Passion, McLaren TP Andrea Stella said,  “We have some small things that will come for Australia and, hopefully, for Japan, but these will be very small improvements. Then, if all goes well, we will have an important update for the sixth or seventh race“, these are the words of the Italian team principal.

Lando Norris who has been a patient man all this while also spoke of updates during the last GP.

“Make a couple of hundredths difference”: Lando Norris on potential updates for McLaren

The Papaya drivers have scored points in the first two races of the season, which just means they are already ahead of their trajectory from 2023. And they are still hopeful of a miraculous recovery like that of last year where they can compete for race wins. Lando Norris gave an insight on upcoming upgrades and how they affect the timings.

Lando Norris said, “Some of these things, they’re minor things that make a couple of hundredths difference here and there. The thing is when you have three or four of those things which make a couple of hundredths of difference, maybe you can talk about a tenth. When you’re talking about a tenth, you’re already talking about a good step. They’re things that everyone is going to be doing.”
