Lando Norris Pushing for More Success “Together with Daniel Ricciardo” After New McLaren F1 Deal

McLaren have rewarded Lando Norris for a fine start to the season with a new multi-year F1 contract, which will see him drive for the team beyond the 2022 season. It also confirms McLaren’s plan for long-term stability with Ricciardo locked in as well. And now, even Norris recognizes the importance of working in tandem with him.
The 21-year-old youngster from Somerset has been part of the McLaren program since 2017. He’s risen through the ranks from being a reserve driver to be the leader of the team, currently. After the announcement went official, he said –
“We’ve already had some incredible moments together which I’ll never forget – two podiums and securing P3 in the championship – and together with Daniel and the rest of the team I’m looking forward to pushing for even more success in the years to come.”

Naturally, McLaren CEO, Zak Brown, was a happy man after securing the services of his driver in the long term. He had called on Lando to perform more maturely this season, and the Briton has very well obliged. After the announcement, Brown acknowledged the role that Lando had played in turning around their fortunes.

“I’m delighted with the extension of our agreement with Lando for 2022 and beyond. He’s been instrumental in our return of form here at McLaren and we’re proud of the growth he’s shown since he first started with us back in 2017,” he said.
