At the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Lando Norris enjoyed a great race that resulted in a podium. While Max Verstappen won the race, Lewis Hamilton finished second, and Norris third. This was Norris’ second career podium after his maiden one in Austria during the 2020 season.
After the race, Norris revealed what he told Hamilton in parc ferme. He said, “I tried, I tried! Tried holding you off, Lewis. I tried, I tried”. Needless to say, the younger Brit really fought tooth and nail to fend off Hamilton. Without a doubt, Norris’ star is rising quickly, and he is helping McLaren return to the front.

After Hamilton slid off the track and extricated himself, he was a man on a mission. He fought his way back up the order from ninth place until he reached the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Lando Norris in the McLaren was just ahead of the Prancing Horses in second place and primed for a career-best finish.
Admittedly, the Ferrari boys gave Hamilton a good fight for a few laps. However, the superior Silver Arrow was eventually able to dispatch them. That gave Norris enough time to set up his own defenses against his compatriot. All that Hamilton needed was a couple of laps until Norris was behind him.

Unfortunately, for Lewis Hamilton, there was not enough time to catch race leader Max Verstappen. So, the defending champion was forced to settle for second place. Of course, Norris could not rest a year, because he still had a dual equine assault behind him. In the end, he was able to stave off the relentless attack from Leclerc and his own former teammate, Sainz. Nevertheless, Lando Norris thoroughly deserved to be on the podium at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
