Lando Norris Reveals the Backstory to Him Hijacking Daniel Ricciardo’s Phone at Sochi

Often teammates are thought to be each other’s greatest rivals. However, Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris are an exception. Their antics during a Grand Prix weekend have been adored by the Formula One community.
Most recently at the Russian GP, Norris had won a game of table tennis, and as part of the bet they had placed, Lando could tweet anything he wanted from Ricciardo’s phone. When the 21-year-old was asked about that, Norris had some fair reasons to give regarding the hilarious saga.

While fans were getting excited about the Russian GP, they weren’t expecting Ricciardo to be praising Norris on Twitter. Soon, fans figured it out and thought it could be Norris who was behind the banter.

Natalie Pinkham then cut him off, asking for a clarification on the game itself. Lando replied, “What is it? Table tennis, ping pong sounds better.”
Lando continued, “And, the result for this as a fair rule, I could do a tweet or an Instagram story, and I decided to do the tweet. So I put this together, I thought it was very well worded, especially with the hashtag DR3 at the end. He wasn’t meant to post this picture of me, but he obviously he felt like it was too convincing that he had to show it was me.”
Upon being told that it wasn’t the best picture, Norris laughed and answered, “No, I don’t even know what he was trying to do. I thought he was trying to show me something but then took the picture; caught me out a little bit. But I am so happy with the tweet.”

What did Lando tweet from Daniel’s phone?
The duo was spending time playing a game of table tennis. The Australian had lost the match, and part of the wager they had set was that Lando could tweet from his phone. Norris seized the opportunity and sent out a tweet that was loved by the F1 community.

He wrote, “Apart from just getting beat 5-0 by Lando in table tennis, he’s taught me so much this year, especially in high speed corners. Impressive. He’s got some large cojones. Something I don’t have.#DR3.”

Soon, Ricciardo posted a photo of his teammate, showing he was the culprit. Regardless, the banter between the McLaren duo is adored by everyone, and can’t wait to see them pull each other’s legs as the season progress.
