Ferrari might not have had the best start to the Brazilian GP weekend. However, the Italian team can definitely be satisfied with the race result. Especially after a potential race-ending collision for Charles Leclerc in the opening stages of the race. The collision confused the Monegasque.

Leclerc went into the barrier whilst overtaking Lando Norris at turn seven. The McLaren man moved his car to block the overtaking attempt which sent the Ferrari man into the barriers. Leclerc’s car luckily survived the collision, and he continued the race to finish at P4. However, this uncharacteristically “aggressive” maneuver from Norris confused Leclerc.

Leclerc communicated his confusion about the Brit’s actions. “Obviously I know that he is not this type of guy, but for some reason today he was very aggressive, and also yesterday the same with Carlos,” he said.

The Ferrari man did not understand Norris’s actions, but also understood the McLaren man was trying to race the best he can. “I don’t really understand, but it’s like this. At the end, I don’t expect him to let me past. He didn’t, but today was too much. And he paid the price with a penalty,” he concluded.

Norris does not have a reputation for making such erratic and aggressive maneuvers. Probably why the incident in Brazil confused and angered the Monegasque all the more.

However, Leclerc quickly moved past this incident from the start, as he had something else on his mind towards the end.

“I kind of understand because Carlos is on the podium, but I never usually ask things like that. I did it because we had a discussion before the race. We mentioned in this case and for some reason then we changed our mind. In the heat of the moment, that was very frustrating. But that’s the way it is,” he said.
