Formula1 is a megabucks sport and money certainly overweighs merit in some cases. The sport induces huge financial costs and thus, this necessary evil survives. However, some drivers justify their presence in the sport even after coming from lofty backgrounds. Lando Norris is one of them.

The young driver has a British-Belgium heritage and is driving for Mclaren outfit alongside Aussie star Daniel Ricciardo. He is currently in his third season with the team and has put up some really impressive performances. Norris comes from an affluent background. His father Adam Norris is a multi-millionaire pension manager and investor.

The Bristol-born kid had immense success at the junior level before being signed up by the Surrey-based team. According to reports, His father Adam Norris is on the Briston rich list having an estimated personal fortune of £205 million which converts to over $250 million. However, Lando who is in his initial years of F1 has an estimated net worth of around $6 million.

The Norris family’s net worth is incredibly close to that of F1 legend Lewis Hamilton. As per the reports, the British star has an estimated net worth of just over $260 million.

Norris senior is the 501st richest person in his country. He currently serves as the CEO at Horatio Investments.

He currently invests in start-ups through Glastonbury-based Horatio Investments. The tagline of HI says, ‘We are entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs.’  The bio on the same website also read that “He also invests strategically in areas of personal interest, such as Formula 1, equine sports and commercial property.”

Lando’s growth as a racing driver

Norris had a primitive interest in motorbikes before shifting to four-wheels. He outperformed at every level he entered. In 2014 he became the youngest Karting World Champion. In 2017, he clinched the European Formula3 championship which was his fourth title in three years. He came home second in the 2018 FIA Formula2 championship behind George Russell. Following his many impressive performances, he was signed by Mclaren in 2017 as a junior driver.

His Formula1 debut came in the 2019 Australian GP where he could not score any points. Nevertheless, the young Brit finished 6th in the following race and this incredible journey began for him. He is currently 5th in the drivers’ standing with 153 points in his bag.
