

The United States is all set to have another F1 race as Las Vegas Grand Prix from next season. This will be the third race for the country in the F1 calendar. More interestingly, the newly proposed Grand Prix will have a ‘strip’ where the cars can reach as high as 340 km/h.

The last time F1 was here was back in 1981 and 1982. Back then, the track was built entirely in the parking lot of the Caesars Palace. The race will be a night race so that the fans can witness the glitz and glaze of the city. Moreover, just a last time, it’ll be a Saturday night race.

The straight where the drivers will go at high speed is a 2 kilometers long strip. Since they’ll be going that fast, everyone but the drivers will be able to savor looking at the colorful nightlife and the neon signs of Las Vegas. They’ll go at high speed through the strip built in the circuit. The circuit is 6.12 kilometers long and might have 50 laps in total (a total of 306 kilometers covered).

The fans around the world have gone into a frenzy after hearing the news of the Las Vegas GP surfacing. Las Vegas, known for its crazy nightlife and high octane lifestyle, will host the race after a period of about 40 years. As fans, the drivers, and the teams are all excited about the same.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has stated that the Grand Prix is going to be a “pretty hardcore event”. Four-times world champion Sebastian Vettel joked and expects some drivers to cash out their money in casinos and get it back on Sunday.

The defending F1 champion Max Verstappen joked about having two weeks off before and after the race. Valtteri Bottas of Alfa Romeo gave a little hint about his past exploits in the city and said, “I am coming back”. McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo talked about thinking of retiring but he “will not no more.”
