Nicholas mentioned that he’s struggling with confidence in the car. He is unable to extract the most out of the machinery given to him. He also revealed that he’s not been comfortable with the car for a while now and that is the reason he is struggling in comparison to his teammate.

“It’s everywhere. As soon as you’re not flat out on the straights, that’s when it starts. Alex is clearly more comfortable with the car. Regardless of the pace of the car, we know we’re missing downforce, we know we’re struggling with balance issues. This is clear, but he’s doing a better job in managing it,” said Latifi.

“If you don’t feel the confidence with the car, you can’t begin to work on the more technical aspects, and that’ll always be the case. So confidence first, and then everything else, is secondary, really,” said the Williams driver.

It is paramount for Latifi to cut down his mistakes in the coming races. If he continues to underperform in comparison to his teammate Alex Albon, soon his seat on the team will be in question.

He is not a sure shot fit in for next season with the team, as they might not turn to him for any more investments. Hopefully, he can get comfortable with the FW44 soon and showcase his late 2021 form once again.
