RB Boss Opposes Zak Brown’s Constant Red Bull Complaints With “1000%” Guarantee of Fairplay

Since forever, the Red Bull sister team has acted as the breeding ground for new talent and a probation center for talent to get promoted to Red Bull. Christian Horner in Drive to Survive explained how all the drivers of the two teams are under the Red Bull contract and they can be shifted in and out as per their performance. Keeping these family-like close ties in mind, many, including Zak Brown, have created an uproar by pointing fingers at the Red Bull B team and the alleged tech exchange between the two. And finally, the Red Bull camp has answered.

The team wants to embark upon a new journey to be fighting in front of the pack and Red Bull’s RB-19 will be the key element in the same. And while newly appointed TP of V-CARB, Laurent Mekies has stated in the past that the teams are sharing whatever they can, he has now sent a clear message to the likes of McLaren CEO Zak Brown who has been extremely vocal in opposing Red Bull’s ownership of two teams.

Talking to Beyond the Grid Podcast, Mekies said, “It is black and white. Regulations are black and white, we operate at 1000% within the regulations. And we can be located in Milton Keynes, in Faenza, and in Japan, it is exactly the same. Aerodynamics…every team needs to do its own and that I what we are doing. We are 100% compliant with the regulations.”

Zak Brown has been a very vocal force when it comes to raising issues plaguing the sport. The most recent has been his campaign against Christian Horner and Co. Brown states that when the junior team was set up, the times were completely different. According to Brown, with changing times and increasing competition, it is not fair for one outfit to own two teams.

Brown had stated, “No [I’m not paranoid], and actually I’m speaking in the wider interest of the sport. If you look at every other major sport, you’re not allowed to own two teams. And I’d even go further. There’s A-B team relationships,”
