Lawrence Stroll often comes across as a wealthy businessman with massive ambitions. Since taking over the formerly named Force India F1 team midway through 2018, he influenced massive changes in the outfit.
They enjoyed one of their most successful seasons last year, as they came close to finishing third in the constructor’s championship. Although they are struggling this season under the Aston Martin name, Stroll continues to have huge dreams as the 2022 season ushers in a new era of F1.
In recent times, their rise drew comparisons with that of Red Bull, who took over Jaguar Racing in 2004. During a recent appearance, Stroll spoke about these comparisons, while mentioning Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey.

Lawrence Stroll heaps praise on Adrian Newey
Red Bull’s dominance from 2010 to 2013 often finds itself attributed to the designing skills of Newey. Although they didn’t taste as much success in the hybrid era, they look a much stronger outfit this season. With six races to go, they could end Mercedes’ seven-year dominance should they keep it together.
Recently, Stroll appeared on the Beyond the Grid podcast where he spoke about the similarities between his team and the Austrian outfit. He said, “I think Red Bull took a small team and made a great, big team out of it. In that comparison, a similarity is there, that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

He then moved on to the team’s new management acquisitions, while complimenting Newey. “I think Adrian’s a unicorn. He’s very special, maybe exists once! But, I guess you followed recently, in the last several months all the announcements we’ve made of the top executives, senior management we’ve hired in the industry.
