Lawrence Stroll‘s grand $220 million vision for Aston Martin’s future, initiated back in 2021, is turbocharging its way to reality. And if the rumbling sounds coming from Silverstone are anything to go by, Fernando Alonso might just have the ultimate ride for victory! Up until recently, Aston Martin, which nostalgically began as Jordan in 1991, was operating out of the same decades-old premises. Imagine cooking up a 21st-century racing feast in a 20th-century kitchen. But Lawrence Stroll, with his signature billionaire swag, decided to serve us a delightful upgrade.

Enter the new 400,000-square-foot campus at Silverstone. While it’s not completely ready, the Aston Martin team, like kids before Christmas, couldn’t wait to unpack their gifts. Mike Krack, the Team Principal, is already singing praises. As per Motorsport-Nextgen.auto, Krack hinted at a performance jump between the Hungarian and Belgian Grands Prix, crediting the new facilities.

Luca Furbatto, Aston Martin F1 Team Engineering Director, says in the latest UNDERCUT interview by Aston Martin,

“It’s a big part of everything we hope to achieve. The first phase of the new campus is complete and it’s an incredible place to work and there is more to come. I believe we’ll start to see the full potential of the new campus by the beginning of 2025: we’ll have our new gearbox dynos fully operational, and the new wind tunnel will be ready in the second half of next year. All in all, it’ll be a game-changer.”

And while the first phase of this monumental campus has already been unveiled, there’s still more magic in store. So, when can fans expect to witness this “magic” on the racetrack, perhaps under the able hands of Fernando Alonso? Luca enthusiastically points towards the beginning of 2025.

All said and done, if there’s one phrase that sums up this massive venture, it’s a game-changer. And with a legend like Alonso in the mix, the future races are going to be nothing short of spectacular.

And speaking of Aston Martin’s superstar, Fernando Alonso, there’s more to the story than just the tech and turbo. As with all legends, there’s always some buzz around them.

Fernando Alonso “Too Old” for Max Verstappen Duo?

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” That’s a popular quote, and it seems 42-year-old Fernando Alonso has taken it to heart. With seven podium finishes this season, including P2s in Monaco, Canada, and the Dutch GPs, he’s lit the track on fire!

But here’s the juicy tidbit: could Alonso and F1’s current reigning champ Max Verstappen ever be teammates? Some dream of this electrifying combination, imagining the sparks (and probably some entertaining radio chatter).

However, Rob Kamphues, the F1 presenter, thinks that might remain a dream. Speaking on Ziggo Sport’s ‘Race Café’, he said, “Surely [Alonso] is a touch too old, with all due respect. I would love it. I am a fan of Alonso, but I don’t see it happening.”

Welp, I guess that’s a party pooper moment for many!

Meanwhile, Alonso is beating the socks off his current teammate, Lance Stroll. The score so far: Alonso 174, Stroll 47. But while Alonso’s been shining bright, his team Aston Martin is in a bit of a struggle, lagging behind the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren.
