Formula One has taken massive strides forward ever since optimistic Liberty Media took over the baton from Bernie Ecclestone. And it is safe to say that lots have changed, from the very design of the F1 car to the wider spectrum of geographic interests. Every single F1 session has a mind-blowing theme song welcoming the viewers and the visuals, too, that does the job to perfection. And the mastermind behind this insane F1 intro theme? However, could there be another music artist making their way into F1 with a better intro song? Well, the answer is no, but, quite interestingly, Shakira has an opinion to share with the fans. The Hips Don’t Lie fame created her own playlist ahead of the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, which also included other singers’ work, including The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, and BTS.

During the exclusive interview with F1, the Colombian revealed that she would prefer to play one of her own songs as the sport’s intro theme. She further revealed why the song would fit perfectly into F1.

I would definitely pick my newest one, Don’t Wait Up – it has an energy and a build-up that suits the F1 world perfectly,” she said.

This song came together in a single day, with Ian Kirkpatrick and Emily Warren at one of the first in-person sessions I did back in May. It’s a song for just letting loose and not thinking about tomorrow.”
