The holiday season just got over and it’s time for all of us to get back to our normal routine. Another event, as big as the holidays for the F1 fans, has just arrived. Yes, it’s the birthday of the 7X World Champion Lewis Hamilton. Millions of fans across the globe have joined the Briton’s former team McLaren and current team Mercedes to celebrate the Birthday of the legend. But how did they do it?

Lewis Hamilton turned 39 years old today. The Mercedes driver inching closer towards the 40 mark. Fernando Alonso, the 42-year-old former teammate and current rival of Hamilton must be proud. Just another year and we’ll have two drivers racing in their 40s if Alonso extends with Aston Martin or finds another contract at the end of the year. Nonetheless, Hamilton’s birthday is one that we shall all celebrate with the champ.

F1 journalist Peter Windsor in a video had explained how the F1 world champion is like the father figure in the paddock. Rising up the ranks without significant backup is something very rare these days. But Hamilton did it all on his own with his father Anthony beside him. Over the years, Hamilton has given us thousands of memories to cherish. It all started in his rookie season when he gave his teammate and two-time champion Alonso a run for his money as he lost the championship by just a point. Then came his first championship the very next year. He then followed it up with the dominant run from 2014 to 2020, where he won 6 more championships. And who can forget the 2021 battle with Max Verstappen, arguably the best F1 season in the last decade?

And even though 2022 and 2023 didn’t go as planned, Hamilton has shown his resilience and is keen on winning the 8th title. Now let us see how fans celebrated the legendary racer’s birthday.

“Thank you for all the memories”: McLaren, Mercedes and fans come together to wish Lewis Hamilton

As the Mercedes driver turned 39, many across the globe wished him a Happy Birthday. This included his current team Mercedes but also his former team where he won his first championship, McLaren, as well. What’s surprising is that McLaren wished the champ before Mercedes did on social media. 

It was then the fans’ chance to wish Lewis Hamilton happy birthday as they did it in style, referring to the Briton as the GOAT, 7X champ, and Sir.

As one wishes Lewis Hamilton a Happy 39th Birthday, there is definitely hope about the fact that there is more to come from him. An 8th championship in 2024 would be an apt gift for the legend.
