Recently, Hamilton conveyed, “There has not been enough focus on women in sport for the whole of Formula 1’s life. There is not enough emphasis on it now. They’re not magnifying enough the great work that is being done there. There is not enough representation across the board within our industry.”
“There is not really a pathway for those young, amazing drivers to even get to Formula 1. Then you have some people who say: ‘We’re never going to see a female F1 driver’. That’s not a good narrative to be putting out. So, I think we need to be doing more,” further asserted the Briton F1 star.

The W Series, primarily slated for women, was canceled earlier this month citing financial issues. Jamie Chadwick, the British driver, became the champion for the third time in a row. The decision to end the season early received heavy criticism from a lot of people, including Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton heads for an unusual season-ending
The 2022 F1 season hasn’t been the way Lewis Hamilton would’ve wanted. What was supposed to be the hunt for the eighth world championship hasn’t quite worked Hamilton’s way, as he braces himself for an unusual situation for the first time since 2016.
As things stand, the British F1 driver trails his teammate George Russell by 27 points after 18 rounds of racing. For the first time since Nico Rosberg in 2016, it is George Russell who has got the better of the 37-year-old driver at the Mercedes AMG F1 team.

Lewis Hamilton sits at P6 in the driver’s standings with 180 points after the race in Suzuka, Japan. While his teammate Russell stands in a much-improved P4 with 207 points. It’ll be interesting to see if Russell can keep himself ahead of his veteran teammate.
